Find out where your missing data stops.
Seeing sleep or HRV in your watch app, but not in Tawen? Follow the same record through three places: your source app, Health Connect, then Tawen. This helps you find the next useful step without resetting your data or buying another app first.
1. Find the record in Health Connect
Open Health Connect → Data and access, choose the category and data type, then open See all entries. Look for the date you expect and the app that wrote the entry. “Recent access” only shows that an app accessed Health Connect; it does not confirm that your sleep or HRV was written. Menu names can vary. Google explains how to check written records.
New to Health Connect? Start with the four-step setup guide.
2. Match what you found to the next step
No record in your source app
Sync your wearable with its companion app and check again. If the source app still has no entry, use that provider’s recording and sync guidance. Tawen cannot retrieve a measurement that has not reached its data source.
The source has it, but Health Connect does not
Check that the source supports exporting that exact data type, that its Health Connect sharing is enabled, and that it has write permission. Start a sync in the source app. A connected app can share some types while omitting others. Google’s sync troubleshooting covers these common gaps.
Health Connect has it, but Tawen does not
Open Health Connect → App permissions → Tawen and check read access for the missing type. Then open Tawen’s Dashboard and pull down to refresh. Compare the record’s date with the day you are viewing; an older entry may fall outside the score’s time window. Review Health Connect permissions.
If a recent, supported record is present and readable but still missing in Tawen, send us the setup details below. That is useful evidence of an app issue, not a reason to keep resetting permissions.
Heart rate is not HRV
Tawen reads HRV records in the RMSSD format, separately from heart rate and resting heart rate. A heart-rate chart or a provider’s own HRV status label does not establish that an HRV record is available to Tawen. Look specifically for heart rate variability in Health Connect. Google documents the HRV record format.
Using Garmin? Garmin’s published Health Connect export list includes heart rate and sleep stages, but does not list HRV. Direct sharing requires Android 14 or newer and follows a successful device sync. Check Garmin’s current supported data list before expecting a watch metric to appear in Health Connect.
A third-party bridge is not a guaranteed fix. Before paying for one, confirm that it supports your exact source and missing record type.
A sleep score is not a sleep session
Tawen reads sleep sessions and uses stages when they are available. A provider’s sleep score alone is not the same record. Check for an actual session in Health Connect, including its start and end times; overnight sleep may begin on the previous date. Some sources share a session without every stage.
Missing data can leave a signal unavailable or the score partial. Pro and Nano cannot supply missing measurements: Pro unlocks features, while supported Nano explanations describe the available inputs.
Still stuck? Tell us which step failed.
Email [email protected] with your phone model, Android version, Tawen version, source app name, and whether HRV or sleep is missing. Tell us whether the relevant entry exists in Health Connect and roughly when you last synced. You do not need to include health values or screenshots of your health records.
